Abstract

This article continues the cycle of papers devoted to asset management for the digital economy and digital railways. This paper deals with the issues related to the creation of a comfortable environment at passenger and railway stations. Stage of support and maintenance for digital railway exceeds the actual design and construction, both in time and cost. A successful transition to an approach based on the analysis of the life cycle for railway infrastructure requires innovative thinking. From the outset, the emphasis should be not only to optimize the upfront capital costs, but also reduce operating costs and, very importantly, the organization of potential revenue streams in the process of exploitation. In this paper, we consider the approach related to the economic analysis for the entire life of the railway and the entire period of the development of infrastructure. Environmental and resource-saving technologies are ready to comply with the general rules in the projects of the physical assets of the life cycle. They could be economically successful and act not only as consumers of resources, but also to contribute to the revenue of the project.
